Infamous Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff is getting the Hollywood treatment.

In this first-look photo from ABC’s upcoming “Madoff” miniseries, Richard Dreyfuss portrays the disgraced financier, with Blythe Danner as his wife, Ruth.

“Madoff” follows the rise and abrupt fall of the investment advisor, who was sentenced to 150 years in jail in 2009 for defrauding clients of billions of dollars. The miniseries also explores the fallout to his family, associates and investors.

Its cast includes Frank Whaley as whistleblower Harry Markopolos; Erin Cummings as Madoff’s longtime secretary, Eleanor Squillari; Tom Lipinski as son Mark Madoff (who committed suicide in 2010), Lyne Renee as son Andrew’s fiancee, Catherine Hooper; Charles Grodin as early Madoff investor Carl Shapiro; and Lewis Black as business associate Ezra Merkin.

The project is inspired by ABC News chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross’ book “The Madoff Chronicles” and is being produced by Lincoln Square Productions and ABC Studios.

Raymond De Felitta (“City Island”) is directing the project, which is currently filming in and around New York City and will premiere on ABC later this year.
